For me, art is the realization of myself as a part of God's design, an understanding of my purpose in this world, and a means of expressing my inner world through painting.
Fatimie Ashyrova is a self-taught artist with formal training in classical drawing and painting. Her work blends realism, abstraction, and symbolism, using oil, acrylic, and mixed media. Her visual language echoes decorative minimalism and the styles of Matisse, O’Keeffe, Hockney, and Thiebaud.
She is currently working on a series of still lifes inspired by the aesthetics of the 1960s — quiet scenes with vases, flowers, and fruit lit by intense midday sunlight. Alongside this, she creates floral abstractions with layered, textured brushstrokes that evoke atmosphere and emotion.
After being forced to relocate to Ireland due to war, Fatimie restarted her creative journey from scratch and continues to build her artistic voice. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Paolo de Britto Gallery in Germany.
Looking ahead, Fatimie aims to explore modernist and abstract directions more deeply, scale up her canvases, and take part in prestigious contemporary art fairs and exhibitions.
